Spicy Prawn Masala Recipe

Whether paired with fluffy basmati rice or soft naan, this dish is bound to impress seafood lovers and spice enthusiasts alike.

🧄 Ingredients

  • 500g fresh prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 medium onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 green chillies, slit
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1½ tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
  • 2 tbsp oil

🍳 Preparation

  1. Heat oil in a pan and sauté the onions until golden brown.
  2. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies; cook till fragrant.
  3. Stir in the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
  4. Add all the spices: turmeric, red chilli, coriander powder, and salt.
  5. Add prawns and cook for 5–7 minutes, until they curl and turn opaque.
  6. Sprinkle garam masala, mix well, and let simmer for 2 minutes.
  7. Garnish with chopped coriander and serve hot.

✨ Serving Tip

Best enjoyed with warm rice, jeera pulao, or crispy paratha. Squeeze a bit of lime just before serving for an added zing.
